Sierra Chopito
Sierra is a graduate student and is the graduate assistant for Dr. Jean Hertzman in the Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management Department. She is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Food Science and Technology with a minor in Applied Statistics at New Mexico State University. She graduated with her Bachelor's of Science degree in Culinary Science with a minor in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management from NMSU. She also received a Culinary Arts degree from Johnson and Wales University. She graduated with honors and was on the Dean’s List multiple times at each university. Sierra is a very active student on campus by participating in clubs and volunteering at on-campus events. Sierra also has gained a wide range of experience in the culinary field from a line cook to a food safety auditor. For her future career, Sierra wants to become a Research Chef to develop new food products.
